SUMNER, Wash. – A 42-year-old Bonney Lake woman sustained serious injuries after being involved in a hit-and-run collision in Sumner Tuesday afternoon. Washington State Patrol (WSP) detectives are seeking the public's assistance to help identify the fleeing vehicle and driver.

The woman was driving a white Honda Accord westbound on state Route 410 in the center lane approaching the interchange ramp to state Route 167 at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

A dark colored passenger car was entering westbound SR 410 from Traffic Avenue, merging from the right lane to the center lane. The passenger car struck the white Honda Accord on the passenger side, forcing the Honda into the left lane, striking a cement mixer truck.

The Honda rotated around the front of the cement mixer truck and struck the concrete barrier dividing westbound and eastbound SR 410. The driver of the dark colored passenger car failed to stop at the scene and continued westbound on SR 410.

Witnesses have been unable to provide investigators with the fleeing vehicle's style, color, make, model, or any description of its occupants.

Anyone with additional information regarding the fleeing driver and vehicle can contact Detective Travis Calton at (360) 918-4032.
