Work starting on new Edwardsville fire station

Apr 24, 2023

With a portable concrete mixer on site, the new East Fire Station in Edwardsville has started to see some progress since Illinois weather has allowed it. The $5.1 million, 8,400-square-foot facility is planned on the north side of Governors' Parkway, east of Oglesby Drive and District Drive, near the city's Interstate 55 corridor. It is expected to be completed in 2024.

Edwardsville's new East Fire Station is starting to see some progress and is expected to be completed sometime in 2024.

As the Midwest weather continues to allow for warmer winter weather, work on the new 8,400-square-foot fire station has included some recent pouring of cement, as a portable concrete mixer is on site.

The $5.1 million station will be located on nearly two acres of land the city purchased last year on the north side of Governors' Parkway, east of Oglesby Drive and District Drive, near the city's Interstate 55 corridor.

It will include three double bays to house multiple trucks and ambulances.
